Ahead of the Boyzlife tour this December, Sarah caught up with Keith Duffy to talk classic songs, performing with Brian McFadden and visiting Liverpool this December…

Asking how the tour, which sees Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden perform classic songs by Boyzone and Westlife, first came about, Keith explains how it actually all started with a book idea…

“I was approached to write an autobiography, but when it came down to it, I just didn’t feel that the stories were jumping off the page - so I thought it’d be much better to tell them in real life. I saw Brian McFadden performing with a rock band in Dublin and I was completely blown away. We’ve been friends for a long time, so over a few pints we started talking and I asked if he’d like to join forces with me. Within four hours of the tickets going on sale, our first tour sold out”

Featuring a mix of chart-topping songs including ‘If I let you go’ and ‘No Matter What’ and autobiographical stories, Keith adds that fans can expect to hear even more of their favourite songs on the upcoming tour:

“This is our third tour now. There’s more music - on the first tour it was very auto-biographical and we told a lot of stories, but on this tour, we’re trying to fit a lot more of the hits in. It’s still partly auto-biographical and we perform songs by Boyzone and Westlife. There’s some great tunes; from ‘No Matter What, If I let you go, Mandy, Picture of You - there’s certain songs the fans want and we give you those songs”

The Boyzlife tour begins in Liverpool on Wednesday 6th December at the Art Club, something which Keith is extremely excited about:

“I first performed in Liverpool when I was eighteen. Liverpool audiences are fantastic; their energy is great. The people are very hospitable and we love Liverpool. It’s where we are opening the first night of the tour and that energy is going to set us off on the right foot for the rest of the tour”.

And how would Keith describe the Boyzlife tour?

    “Stories, laughter and music”.

The Boyzlife tour is at the Arts Club Liverpool on Wednesday 6th December 2017.
