Liverpool Comic Con returns to Exhibition Centre Liverpool this March

Liverpool Comic Con returns to the Exhibition Centre Liverpool this March.

Organised by Monopoly Events, CEO Andy Kleek thanked everyone for their help and support following their first Liverpool Comic Con in 2018:

“We had a lot of public support. To do what we did last year - we had eight weeks to put the entire event on. I think everyone did a fantastic job”.

This year fans can meet stars from TV and film including Bill Duke (Predator, X-Men: The Last Stand), Peter Facinelli (The Twilight Saga, Supergirl, Nurse Jackie), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, Doctor Who), John Challis (Doctor Who, Only Fools and Horses), Dean Cain (The New Adventures of Superman) Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck), Sean Maher (Arrow, Firefly) and Wrestler Sting (WCW, WWE, TNA).

That’s not all as more guests are soon to be announced - and we can’t wait to hear who they might be!

Joining the line-up is an incredible gathering of legendary Power Rangers from across the series including Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, Power Rangers Super Mega Force, Power Rangers Time Force, Power Rangers in Space, Power Rangers Dino Thunder, Power Rangers Ninja Steel and Power Rangers  Turbo!

“I thought it’d be great because it’s loved by so many people. It's loved by people you know and it’s loved by kids. We want to appeal to a whole generation of audiences and I think the Power Rangers really does that”.

Whilst organising Liverpool Comic Con 2019, Andy and the team received an email about Denver, a young Power Rangers fan who has been sadly diagnosed with a terminal illness. They are organising for him to meet his heroes at Liverpool Comic Con, with traders at the event also donating Power Rangers toys to Denver.

The fans are the driving force behind Liverpool Comic Con and Andy and Monopoly Events are working hard to deliver a convention by the fans, for the fans. This includes providing a range of activities and guests that will appeal to all, to make Liverpool Comic Con 2019 the biggest and most brilliant yet:

“We’re putting quite a lot into it this year. There’s the Cos Play competition and we’re bringing in a lot of Professional Cos Players, Anime Actors and there’s Cos Players visiting from all over the world.

Over the next few years, we've got a three or four year plan to make Liverpool Comic Con one of the biggest Conventions in the UK. I think we can do that and achieve that”.

Cos Play will also be a major part of the Liverpool Comic Con After Party, which takes place at Camp & Furnace on Saturday 9th March:

“There’s going to be a Cos Play catwalk. That’s going to be brilliant. We’re taking entries for that and people will turn up on the night, so I think it’s going to be a really cool thing. We’re going to do a blast through the decades as we go on throughout the night too - it’s going to be a really fun party”.

With a love of Sci-Fi and Comics that began when Andy started collecting vintage toys, such as Star Wars figures, that same love from the team and the fans is the inspiration behind Liverpool Comic Con:

“It’s by the fans, for the fans. We love what we’re doing and we’re trying to put on an outstanding show”

Liverpool Comic Con 2019 is at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March 2019.
